Ricks Tree Service

On April 25, 2013 a friend of mine named Luis Sanchez died while working at Ricks Tree Service. Another employee was critically injured on the same job.

Luis was an extremely hard worker and the death could have been prevented. Rick Mammucari the owner has failed to properly train his employees. Rick's only concern is how much money his crew can make in his mandatory 13 hour shift. As a former worker I knew this day was coming.

From tipping over his crane to severe accidents, it was only a matter of time. Rick's employees work very hard (sometimes hazardous) to complete as many jobs as possible because they only get paid by commission. Rick currently lives in Hawaii and runs his company by computers and cameras. The biggest disgrace to the company was that Rick stayed in Hawaii and never came back to pay his respect to the Sanchez family.

Shame on you!!! It's a heart breaking story but I think it's the beginning of the end for this tree company.

Rick's advertises that they have a certified arborist. The truth is they DO NOT.

This was confirmed by the National Arborist Association on 3-1-13. They are being investigated for misleading consumers.

It is also confirmed that Rick the owner resides in Hawaii with his wife and two daughters. Due to the fact that Rick lives in Hawaii his business is no longer reputable. He has let the crews run themselves with no supervision which results in poor workmanship.

Rick's appears to be cheaper then other competitors. He pays each his employees 7% of the total job. Therefore the employees care only about getting the job done and moving onto the next.

The job is always priced low and there is no time to do what the customer really expects. Do yourself a favor and go with another company.

Rick is a first class *** His service blocked our street today so no service vehicles could get down our road. When my called to kindly ask that they create room for other vehicles the secretary was very nice and said she'd call out to the site to see what she could do and that it shouldn't be a problem.

For whatever reason Rick felt the need to call back and berate my wife for making such a request. His actual quote was "don't you think you are being a RETARD about this".

Classy guy, hope he falls out of the next tree he climbs. DON"T EVER USE THIS COMPANY

I am a competitor/colleague of Rick and I can only say that he has only ever treated me fairly and done what he could to help my small company. Whatever personal issues anyone might choose to air about him have nothing to do with the service you will receive.

To the poster who complained about the delay in scheduling, the tree did not fall into such dangerous shape in the 2 week period that he was waiting for service. Maybe he should have called a year before when common sense would dictate that there was an impending problem instead of calling in July ( busiest season). The tree owner was the negligent party, not the contractor who has to deal with the mess. Anyone casting aspersions on the personal life of Rick Mamacuri should look in the mirror before doing so.

The next issue of illegal aliens...don't demand the lowest price and then cry about Mexicans doing the work. If unemployed Americans were the only labor pool, an apple would cost $12. Don't hate the player, hate the game. When GM beats Toyota everyone cheers.

People have the right to their opinion of course your going to defend everything that is said about you..but calling people dirtballs is very unprofessional from what I see on here you are a bully.

I do feel bad if you are taking advantage of people and working them like dogs and not paying them properly it seems to me you have too much and that is why.

I don't know how you lay your head down at night knowing you have so much and other people have nothing.

I'm not a competitor or employee of Rick's Tree Service, and I'm pissed. For over three years now, Rick has harassed me and my business, with cutting me off in the middle of doing work for him and accusing me of taking his money. Although I always worked very hard on his projects and delivered above and beyond, eventually I became tired of the harassment and I gave him back more cash compared to what he actually spent with me after he sued me. (the only time I have been sued in 15 years of business) We then signed a legal agreement that the matter was resolved and over. A few months later, Rick started running a negative campaign against me on sites like this one because he thought that I was posting here about his very shady past that he would like to keep hidden. Until now, I have never posted anything about Rick Mammucari or Rick's Tree Service, but it is important that my story be told so people understand what Rick Mammucari and his business are really like.

I have lost a great deal of money in dealing with Rick Mammucari and Rick's Tree Service, and let this be a warning to whomever thinks about dealing with him - in that you are interacting with someone whom has little sense of right and wrong, and he will stop at nothing to hurt you, your business, and family, if he even suspects in ignorance that you MAY have crossed him.

There is no reasoning with Rick Mammucari. In my experience with him, he is always right, you are always wrong, and you are out to take his money that he collects from his majority foreign workforce cutting down Trees in the Philadelphia area, even if you have a legitimate gripe with him.

The interesting thing is, you'll see countless posts by him here and on other sites claiming such websites are a scam to take money from him to remove the negative posts, and old employees and competitors of his are here trying to ruin his reputation. Apparently he does not believe that anyone has the right to speak about him, but he has the right to attack others and just make up things simply because he is Rick Mammucari and he believes it to "possibly" be true. The ultimate proof of how dishonest Rick Mammucari can be is clear, as he has used these websites to target me, my business, Snazify, my former and current employers, but then turns around and calls these websites a scam when he doesn't like what is posted about his own business. This is the reality of Rick Mammucari. He pretends to be one thing to the public, but the truth is, he is something else entirely.

Rick Mammucari did not even have the courage or backbone to use his own name when posting against me, and it took me confronting him by phone for him to actually admit that he was responsible. Now, he even lies about that when questioned directly by third parties. Rick Mammucari did the same thing when he originally accused me of mischarging him. Instead of confronting me, someone he had known for six years, I had to discover the problem in a phone conversation with him while I was posting new work to his website, which he surprised me by cutting me off and screaming obscenities at me. I would not recommend Rick's Tree Service, even if you have a tree growing in your living room.

hi want to get the best for your money--go some other place--this guy will take your money and disappear--never trust the rickster--sounds like a wrestler!!! never never pay up front for any services and look around for the best prices--this guy has a terrible bbb rating which can cost you money in the future. always get quotes as i know you know to do but also negotiate lower prices--in a time when these guys want to keep you business they will give you discounts--you should go for 30% discount if not go elsewhere this is a buyers ecomonmy--you helpful lawn guy.

this guy is like a locust---uses people then moves on--dont use his service for anything--will take your hard earned money and move on--i would suggest other companies that do a better job such as knight tree--or davey tree--or arader--chris is a good guy--or springfield tree--or guys that are springing up all over--shop around--one of the newer guys is top notch tree service--but my advise is to check around there are some good companies--but stay away from rick mammucari--hold onto your hard earned money and get the best deal--call him NEVER--hey rick you have a lot of friends and the list is growing :-) informed people dont use rick !! they get people that are community and conscience minded. enough said.

this company is dishonest and will not do the job for you--dont call him last dont call him at all--hold onto your wallet and find someone who can do the job for you. he says he has an aborist on staff-this is not true at all. they will charge you extra for anything they can--he low balls the price and then wants to charge you extra when you need clean up or something removed which you cant do youeself--my suggestion is to find a good company that will do the job and not stick it too you in the end--dont be fooled by promises they are only that with this company.

Due to the delay in getting me scheduled, I was forced to go with another provider who, quite honestly, provided much better response time and Service than Rick's Tree Service, and was able to schedule me immediately due to the deteriorated state of the tree in the front yard of my rental property. Even though, as noted on my quotation from Rick's, that the tree was dangerous, I was not scheduled promptly by their team.

My first request via email to Rick's was in May, 2nd in early June I wasn't quoted until the end of June, was told I would be on the schedule 7-10 days out. When I called to find out the schedule date (7 days later), i was told I was still not scheduled and perhaps it would be the middle of the week of July 12. I did receive a call this week that the tree would be removed on July 14th, however, no guarantee was given. In the time that I first contacted Rick's in May, a branch fell off the tree and caused no damage. In the time after I agreed to use Rick's, and was told that I was placed on the schedule, an additional branch fell, damaging the gutter on the home, and knocked down the phone/cable lines. Even after providing this information to Rick's Tree Service earlier this week, I was still not given a firm commitment on when the tree would be removed.

DO NOT LET THIS SO CALLED COMPANY ON YOUR PROPERTY!!!! First they showed up without letting me know that they were coming.

They say that they are Arborist. They are not. I checked with the Arborist Association. They have no care for your property.

They smash or break anything in their way( walkways ,flowers, other trees, shrubs). The men don't speak English, or they act like they don't. They removed the wrong tree.

They left a mess for me to clean up.The company wouldn't fix what they broke and insisted that i pay them even though the job was not done. Don't ever let these guys near your home!!!!

The men are fast and uncaring about your property. They break anything in their way( plants ,other trees and shrubs, flowers, walk ways ect.). I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemies. They showed up without letting me know they were coming.

Destroyed my lawn, cut the wrong tree down, refused to fix any problems that i had with their service.

i understand that this company was perhaps involved in the fake visa scam that happened in west chester--as i understand it he was bringing up illegals from mexico to work for him at very low wages so he could beat his competition out and make a heafty profit for himself--also he was using using these fake visas to make himself look like he was following the law while he was not-- if anyone has info to this would you please post your comments to this site--i am sure he is alredy being looked at and will meet with the authorities wrath soon--but anyone who has any info--it would be good to post it so this potential violator can be brought to the full scrunity of the law--thank you--a concerned citizen and for the justice of lawful american workers.

I CHECKED OUT SOME OF RICKS TREE SERVICES REFERENCES AND THEY WERE NOT GOOD.

I CHECKED THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THEY HAD VERY LOW RATINGS--BEWARE DONT CALL HIM LAST--DONT CALL HIM AT ALL--THANKS PISSED CONSUMER I FOUND DAVEY TREE WHO DID A GREAT JOB AT THE BEST PRICE--THEY STOOD BEHIND THEIR WORK WITH NO HASSLES AND VERY GOOD REFERENCES--SUSAN IN PA BEWARE OF PEOPLE WHO TRY TO FOOL YOU!!!

This tree company is the worst--they take your money and dont do the job--why in the world did i use them--promises of cheaper prices were just a lie--they winded up charging me more in the end--a complete rip off--oh yes they are nice at first--anything you want they say--then when they rip your lawn up--get cash from you and say---i will finish the job i promise--we are busy today-- we will come back tomorrow--well tomorrow never comes once they get your cash--i should have been wiser but i usually trust people--well these people i cannot trust--give me a break rick tree service--customers goes elsewhere--they are frauds!!! i now have to go to small claims court--such a hassle...disappointed in pa.
